Today we saw Skye for the first time since arriving. It was great for her to finally meet Louis. She had an early meeting so unfortunately couldn't come along to lunch.
We got the LIRR train inti Penn station, bought a drink and a map (we totally forgot to bring ANY New York stuff like maps or guidebooks) then walked along to get the R or W down to Madison Square Park. We were meeting the Global Kids and Kids Connect people in the 'line' for the Shake Shack.
It was fantastic to see everyone again, and Barry and Josephine were fighting over holding Louis :-) While we were waiting in the huge queue my mother Twittered about being able to see us (well, Louis' bright green pram) on the Shake Shack's webcam!
We had a great meal then after we took photos of people holding Louis with his kilt on everyone headed back to work and we wandered down Broadway with Dan. At Union Square he headed back to Brooklyn and we went into Babies'R'Us to change Louis.
While there we saw a 'Mommy Bear', that plays a heartbeat sound ("real womb noises"). I skoffed at it but Louis settled down as we were listeding to it, so I thought I'd leave it on the pram while we wandered round the store. As he only started getting grumpy when we took it away, we got one.
We headed to the Metro and got the train down to Spring Street to look in the MoMA store for wedding gifts. We then headed to a café for a salad while Louis wrestled with his new teddy bear (in between chattering with it). We walked along to get the C,E line back to Penn and managed to get straight onto the LIRR back. Having a pram is a great way to get a seat on a busy train - the two businessmen sitting in the disabled space shoogled along to make space for the pram then realised they were sitting next to a baby. It took them a second or two to realise the quiet asleep baby may not stay quiet and asleep, and that it would probably be wiser to let the parents sit next to the baby!
When we got off the train we bumped into Crystal. It was fab to see her and she had fun holding Louis who was suddenly awake and smiley and talkative. We wandered back via CVS to get 'diapers' then sat chatting with Bill for ages before heading to bed.
